Google AdWords Debuts Promotion Extension

A new Ad Extension, available only through the new AdWords interface, debuted last week. The Promotion extension, pictured below, allows advertisers to add special offers to text ads. Instagram Business Accounts See Massive Growth

Since July, more than 10 million businesses have created Instagram business accounts, bringing the total number of business accounts to 25 million. Business accounts on Instagram debuted in May 2016 and the company reports that 200 million business accounts are viewed by users on a daily basis. Facebook Testing Pre-Roll Ads in Watch Tab

Facebook, which currently uses mid-roll ads that break up videos, has lifted their ban on pre-roll ads, but only on video content in the “Watch” tab. This will not impact videos in the newsfeed and will only appear on videos inside Facebook Watch. Click here to read more from Ad Age, who originally reported this story on Friday.

Pintrest Ad Boss Resigns

Tim Kendall, president and head of advertising for Pintrest, announced he is leaving the company to start his won venture. He was with the company for 6 years and helped them transform their ad business, which generated $300,000,000 in revenue last year. He will be replaced by former Google executive Jon Alferness.
