Google Increases Snippet Length

Snippets accompanying search results on Google are getting longer. Users have been noticing the longer snippets over the last few weeks and Google has now confirmed the update. Tracking of the update shows that snippets have increased from 160 characters to 230 characters on average. Click here for more on this story from Search Engine Land. Here's an example of the longer snippet:

Pintrest Debuts Chatbot and New Facebook Messenger Features

It was a busy week for Pintrest. First they launched a new chatbot, pictured below, that users can ask questions and get relevant pins in response. They also added new Facebook Messenger features that allow users to interact with Pintrest directly inside Messenger. Pintrest is hoping to capture new users from the 1 million pins shared weekly via Messenger. Pintrest believes if Messenger users can get a better feel for Pintrest without having to leave Messenger, they are more likely to become Pintrest users themselves. Instagram Adding Business Features

Created a great Instagram story on your business account lately? Now it will be automatically saved to share at a later date on your profile page. The new feature, called Stories Highlights, is designed to encourage brands to create higher quality story content. As of right now, there will not be ads on the Stories Highlights.
